KINABALU PARK & PORING HOT SPRINGS

This tour brings you across mountainous Crocker Range with panoramic view of the countryside and soaring hills. Whilst en route to Kinabalu Park, you can catch the magnificent sight of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia highest peak. The Park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts. On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs which offers visitors the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs. For a closer look at nature, take the 41m high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna.

Day 1    KOTA KINABALU-KINABALU PARK-MT CLIMB-LABAN RATA (L/D)
Your focal point is the majestic Mt. Kinabalu. The highest mountain between the Himalayas and the Snow Mountains of New Guinea Island, this magnificent granite massif stands at 4,095.2M. Although the climb requires no mountaineering skills, it is by no means an easy trek and demands a certain level of physical fitness. The ascent takes you through an Upper Montane Forest which graduates to sparsely vegetation, corresponding to a higher altitude and harsher environment. Stop for a packed lunch along the trail and end your day at Laban Rata, the mid-way resthouse (3345m). Over night accommodation is in dormitories.

Day 2    LABAN RATA-LOW'S PEAK-PARK HQ-KOTA KINABALU (B/L)
Your mountain conquest begins in the wee hours, ahead of heavy morning mist, to catch the first rays of the sun at early dawn. Low's Peak, at 4095.2m, is your summit destination for a spectacular view of the distance horizon as far as the eye can see (weather permitting). Enjoy a late breakfast at Laban Rata before descending to park headquarters, where successful climbers are awarded a certificate. After lunch and a short rest, depart for Kota Kinabalu

Day 1    KOTA KINABALU-PORING HOT SPRINGS-KINABALU PARK (L/D)
Overnight at Park Headquarters (1,500m)

Day 2    PARK HQ-MT CLIMB-LABAN RATA (B/L/D)
After breakfast, proceed to Park Registration office to meet your Mt. Guide. You will then be transferred to Timpohon Gate where your trek to Laban Rata Resthouse begin (or similar) (3,300 m) for overnight

Day 3    LABAN RATA-LOW'S PEAK-PARK HQ-KOTA KINABALU (B/L)
Conquest of the summit resumes at dawn. Return to Laban Rata Resthouse for breakfast. Begin your descend to Timpohon Gate and transfer to Park Headquarters for lunch before returning to Kota Kinabalu

3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS CROCKER RANGE JUNGLE TREKKING

Day 1    KOTA KINABALU-CROCKER RANGE (L/D)
Depart for Penampang and onto Kibambangan, the starting point of the Crocker Range jungle trekking. Experience the richness of the tropical jungle while trekking through the secondary and primary forest. Stay overnight at a village community hall.

Day 2    CROCKER RANGE (B/L/D)
An interesting journey to Timpayasa as you trek through a scenic village, cultivated land and hanging bridges. Take a swim and relax in the cold mountain stream. Stay overnight at a farm.

Day 3    CROCKER RANGE-KOTA KINABALU (B/L)
Scramble up the hill ridges to the ending point of Crocker Range Jungle Trekking. Depart for Kota Kinabalu.

THE LOST WORLD OF MALIAU BASIN
Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

Day 1 - (09:45am) Pick up at Tawau Airport, proceed on 4-wheel drive to the Maliau Basin Security Gate, 180kms away. Weather permitting, journey will take about 5 hours. (13:30pm) stop at Tibow for lunch. (14:00pm) proceed to Maliau Basin Security Gate. (14:30pm) arrive at Maliau Basin Security Gate for short briefing. (15:00pm) drive on to Agathis Camp, 26kms away for the night stay, settle in and enjoy the surrounding environment. (19:00pm) Dinner, weather permitting, go on a night drive in search of nocturnal animals, possible encounter/sightings of Sambar deers, bearded pigs, Malay civets, flying squirrels and Borneo's wild ox, the Banteng, settle in for the night. (L/D)

Day 2 - (07:30am) After breakfast, begin the 7kms trekking through the rainforest to reach the Camel Trophy Camp, this will take about 6 hours of trekking over the rim of the Basin, the first two hours is the most challenging uphill trek for this adventure. (11:30am) stop for packed lunch and relax enjoying the surrounding rich vegetation. (12:30pm) continue trekking. (14:30pm) arrive at the Camel Trophy Camp, settle in. Option A - Walk to the Giluk Falls about 1 hour away and back to Camel Trophy Camp, a dip in the pool is possible or walk to the spectacular, about 100m in height, about 10 storey building Takob Akob Falls which is about 2 hours away and back. Option B - Enjoy the surrounding at the Camel Trophy Camp, have a swim at a nearby stream. (19:00pm) Dinner, settle in for the night. (B/L/D)

Day 3 - (07:30am) After breakfast, start trekking through heath/montane forest and further down through highland dipterocarp forest for roughly about 5 hours to reach the Luba Camp, about 8kms away. The first few kilometres upon entering the heath forest discover the abundance of Nepenthes plants or locally referred to as 'monkey cup' and wild orchids. (12:00nn) At the helicopter pad near Luba Camp, enjoy the full view of the Maliau Basin rim which is about 25kms in diameter, slightly bigger than the island of Singapore, settle in and enjoy the panaromic view of the Maliau Basin. (14:00pm) Descend for about one hour to the highlight of the adventure i.e. the Maliau Falls, have a picnic and take out a camera to snap beautiful shots and enjoy a dip in the falls. (17:00pm) trek uphill back to the Luba Camp for dinner and settle in for the night. (B/L/D)

Day 4 - (07:00am) After breakfast, trek along the forest making a loop back to the Agathis Camp, this will take about 6-8 hours, settle in at the Agathis Camp for the last night of the adventure in the forest, after dinner, weather permitting, a second night drive looking for nocturnal animals. (B/L/D)

Day 5 - (07:30am) After breakfast, drive back to Tawau, through the Maliau Basin Security Gate. (B)
