ABOUT 20,000 people are expected to visit the Perak Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair later this month.
MATTA Perak chapter chairman Chong Yu Ken said the popular two-day fair would be held at the Ipoh Convention Centre on Feb 25 and 26 from 10am to 9pm.
Chong said the fair would feature over 35 tourism industry players and 118 booths for holiday-makers to look for their dream vacation or the best deals.
“Visitors will have ample choices of domestic travel destinations that range from culture, heritage, nature and wildlife, water and sky activities.
“There are also exciting trip packages to many long-haul destinations such as European countries, Japan and Vietnam,” he said during a press conference on Feb 10.
“Umrah operators will also be setting up booths during the fair.”
Chong said there would be a lucky draw for customers who buy packages during the fair.
“Those who spend a minimum of RM300 at the fair are entitled to a lucky draw to win attractive prizes.
“The prizes include travel vouchers, return air tickets, hotel vouchers and more,” he said, adding that the association was targeting about RM23mil in sales turnover.
“We are also pleased to announce that the fair, which is our 30th edition, will also be joined by tourism players from Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Pahang, Tourism Melaka and Langkawi Development Authority (Lada),” he added.
State tourism chairman Loh Sze Yee is expected to open the fair.
