Greetings to Encik Yunus,
First of all, I would like to let you know that I have made it to the Low's Peak of Mount Kinabalu on the 16th Mar 2014. And I did not achieve it without you, your fellow colleagues and the designated guide's help.
Esther have been liaising with me and promptly filling me in during her working and off-duty hours. She even communicated with me via whatapps today to see how am I doing after a few days of rest. I am happy to have her co-ordinate this trip for me. Please convey my appreciation to her. Thank you.
Both of your drivers deserved a pat on the shoulder too. They are punctual, humble and courteous. They taken good care of me during the travel journey to and back from the park. Their experience, local culture knowledge are vast and able to provide advises and information from time to time. Kudo to them.
Last but not least, I am not able to communicate with Ms. Rosalia Biteh since we bid farewell with each other and I am suppose to send her some photos taken together during the trip via electronic mail. Therefore, I would like to request for your assistance to channel my appreciation to her via the Kinabalu Park management team. I have learnt a lot from her during our climb, we communicated and she have guided me well. All do and don't are duly noted with reasons and disciplinary procedures in the climb process are clearly mentioned for my personal safety in mind. She knows the importance of communication between the guide and climber(s) which will surely allow us to manage our expectation accordingly.
I learnt that there are only a handful female guides out of a group of 300plus guides in the park and she have been a guide since she left school at the age of 19. This is her seventh year into her guide service with the park. She is surely a valuable asset to the park and to us all. She possess many positive qualities as a person and not to mentioned as a Guide. She have a very good & strong relationship with her fellow colleagues at all ranks - Guides, Guide-Porters and porters as I never see her fail to greet them all. And of course, she is the one who ensured me to enjoy the climb especially the last leg from Sayat Sayat (it was raining and windy hill). Her strong will kept me going and I cant thank her enough for that. It is this reason why I am writing in to thank her, Kinabalu Park and Borneo Trails for this enjoyable climb.
Thanks again Encik Yunus for your time and attention.
Regards,
Khong Woon Shin.
