His knowledge was evident and the passion he has for his country and his job made for a very exciting visit for us. We had a fantastic day yesterday. We completed the feedback form at the end of the trip, but thought of something extra to pass on since we flew back. 

The guide, Rusli, was very good and we would recommend him to anyone else. His enthusiasm for the orang utans and Sabah's conservation efforts were clear to see and he was very knowledgeable about the animals. 

Our only disappointment with the trip was the lunch stop. On the itinerary and your advertising it said lunch would be at a local restaurant, which implies local food - Borneo/Malaysian cuisine. This is something we look forward to on all our trips, the chance to enjoy good local food and discover something new. So it was disappointing to discover we were going to an English restaurant with English food, when there is so much good local food on offer in Borneo.  The setting was beautiful, with a good view across the bay, so this was very nice, but calling it a local restaurant is quite misleading.  Rusli was able to arrange us Nasi Goreng as an alternative main course, which we appreciated. 

My suggestion is this should be made clearer on the trip details that local food is not on offer. Had we known in advance, then it wouldn't have been so much of an issue. 

This was a minor concern in an otherwise excellent day, but one we felt we ought to raise.

Shangri La hotel staff were so amazing and helpful.  Hotel was fantastic-we loved the marina and going to the islands. Carol our rep was lovely-really informative and helpful.  Transfers were very efficient.
